Armila

In July 2016 Dr. Jesse Field and I spent a month during the rainy season living with the Indigenous Guna in Armila, Guna Yala. In the middle of the Darien Gap, just north of Colombia, Armila is only accessible via boat, there are no roads which lead there. It is engulfed by Jungle, and lies where the mouth of the Armila River meets the turbulent Gulf of Darien. It is home to a small village of 600 people.
